And then we bought a car from Samuel L. Jackson

August 19, 2008

We’re a one-car household. The Beau Named Joe is the one working right now, so he takes the car to work and I ride my bike during the day if I need to run errands. It’s been easy, really. Though I tend to get stir crazy during the day if I don’t get out (sometimes I just don’t feel like hauling my bike down the stairs), it’s been working for us.

It’s about to get complicated.

My best friend from high school is visiting this weekend. She has a family reunion thing in the city so she and her two year old daughter and older sister are crashing with us. I’m ridiculously excited. I only get to see them about once a year because they live in Texas now. It was a last minute deal, but we’re working it out. Thank goodness I’m not working yet!!

So… with one car, we would have had to get Joe to work half an hour south of here, get me to a meeting twenty minutes north of here, pick Joe up from work half an hour south of here, then pick up Andrea and Oasis at Midway… an hour south of here. I worked it out, and I’d be driving about 5 hours that day.

We need a second vehicle.

We BOUGHT a second vehicle.

No no no, not because of the driving I’d have to do Thursday. We’re not that spoiled and spontaneous. Truthfully, we didn’t know how we’d make the commute once I started work. Public transportation is not that convenient for us and we’re working about an hour away from one another, living in the halfway point. Did Andrea’s visit speed up this process? In my head, yeah. But in the beau’s head? Who knows what goes on up there!! πŸ˜‰

We found this car at a dealer and it seemed too good to be true… three years old, 65k miles, less than $7000. We drove it. There’s a squeak. They’ll fix the squeak. Three hours later, we were signing the papers. We pick it up tomorrow.

Oh, and the salesman looked like Samuel L. Jackson.
You’d better believe we got the motherfucking snakes off the motherfucking car.

Your last line? Made me laugh out loud. Any post that involves the word ‘motherfucking’ is a good post to me.

Hahaha yay! That’s so exciting. I haven’t actually got a “new” car since high school. It would be WAY too difficult here in Boston and I def. wouldn’t want one. Though I am excited to someday purchase one!!

At first I thought you were going to say you bought Samuel’s old car, which would have been totally awesome!
