Murphy’s Law

November 8, 2010

Some words of advice.

After daylight savings time, check, double-check, and triple-check that your alarm is not only set but also working correctly before Monday morning.  Inevitably, it will look correct but will go off AN HOUR LATE for absolutely no reason.  Inevitably, this will happen on the day your professor is observing your class for the first and only time.  Inevitably, you will be too flustered to remember to bring all the materials for your class activity to class. Inevitably, you will have to leave the classroom and literally run back to your office in heels, leaving your class to your professor.  Inevitably, you will be embarrassed AND end up with pit stains.

Luckily, you brushed your teeth. That’s about it.

My iPhone did the same thing! Everything was set correctly, but it went off an hour late for no reason at all 😦

    Hopefully your professor understands!

I’m still convinced that Day Light Savings is just a big national joke bent on making me late for everything.

Oh gosh–DST is not my favorite thing at all. Sorry today was so hectic!

Sorry everything was so crazy! Daylight Savings Time is lovely when you get an extra hour of sleep, but I always feel like I lose that extra hour (and then some) somehow.

It’s a known bug in the iPhone’s alarm app. It’s only recurring alarms, they suggest you set a one-off alarm until they update the OS to fix it. There were articles about it pre-DST…sorry you were late!

My God, that sounds horrible. I’m happy to be in AZ where the smartest thing our stupid politicians have done here is get rid of Daylight Savings Time. I’m sorry that happened! I hope you’re having a good week!

    Miss you.
