Today’s Prompt: Party. What social gathering rocked your socks off in 2010? Describe the people, music, food, drink, clothes, shenanigans.

We were invited to a bunch of weddings across the country this summer. We ended up only going to three: Joe’s high school buddies’ wedding in Minneapolis, our college friend’s wedding in St. Louis, and Joe’s coworker’s wedding in Naperville.  Then we decided to rank them. I know, it sounds mean, but I never expected the Naperville wedding to top the list. His coworkers know how to party.

The wedding took place at a Spanish tapas restaurant.  Not only was the food delightful, but cocktail hour consisted of crazy delicious sangria.  Joe was a groomsman and wore a lovely grey tux. The bride wore sparkly Converse. I wore a borrowed vintage dress and red heels. The groom’s cake was Lego-themed and the wedding cake was the best of the summer, too. (Joe and I still maintain that OUR wedding cake is the best we’ve ever tasted. And we’re not trying to be biased, it was just THAT GOOD.) We spent the night on the dance floor where Joe serenaded me with Baby Got Back and where we loudly boycotted the chicken dance. On top of the usual shenanigans, there was a photo booth with costumes. What a great idea.

I’m looking forward to wedding season 2011. So far, we have save the dates for one in Charlotte, NC and another in a Chicago suburb. I’ve never been to North Carolina so I’m excited for that one!!

Based on this picture alone, it looks like this wedding was pretty rockin’. Jealous!
