Scintilla ’13: A step-by-step manual to driving Chelsea Clinton around town

March 14, 2013
The Scintilla Project Today’s prompt: Tell a story about something interesting (anything!) that happened to you, but tell it in the form of an instruction manual (Step 1, Step 2, etc.).
Step 1: Check my email.
Step 2: See an unknown email address.
Step 3: Open email.
Step 4: Realize this email is an offer to help with the Hillary Clinton 2008 campaign.
Step 5: Realize this campaign help involves driving Chelsea Clinton around South Bend.
Step 6: Reply immediately to volunteer.
Step 7: Wait.
The day arrives.
Step 1: Pick up rental car provided by the campaign.
Step 2: Get rental car swept by the Secret Service.
Step 3: Watch Bill and Chelsea Clinton step off the plane.
Step 4: Load Chelsea and her staff into the car.
Step 5: Follow Bill’s driver to the first speaking location.
Step 6: Stay with the car but roll down the window to listen to their speeches.
Step 7: Say hello to the former governor and ask him where to take Chelsea for lunch.
Step 8: Take Chelsea and her staff to a local cafe for a salad and coffee.
Step 9: Drop Chelsea and her staff at the airport.
Step 10: Ask for a picture so my family doesn’t think I’m a compulsive liar.
